Rice Salad (Htamin Thoke)



Ingredients 
  • Marinate the rice with chili oil - this dyes the rice red.
  • Cellophane noodles
  • Cabbage
  • Bean sprouts
  • Potatoes
  • Fried bean curd 

For salad dressings
      Pounded dried shrimps
      Fried crispy onions and oil
       Toasted chick peas powder 
(to give this salad both a creamy texture as well as a nutty flavour)
Fish sauce
 Tamarind water
 seasons to taste



Put all the ingredients into a salad bowl and mix well. Clean hands are the best
tool for mixing salad.  



Sprinkle chili flakes to spice up your salad if you want. Garnish with crispy onions or thinly sliced cabbage on top.  That's it and ready to enjoy with a cup of hot Chinese tea :)
